Healthcare Email Security

Protect your Healthcare organization and clients from cyber threats, while maintaining institutional compliance with regulations and policy.

Ensure regulatory compliance and patient privacy

Healthcare privacy compliance regulations such as HIPAA /HITECH regulatory compliance continue to evolve with audits becoming more frequent and fines continuing to increase. A movement towards stricter healthcare privacy compliance regulations is occurring all over the world as well, such as FIPPA privacy regulatory compliance affecting healthcare organizations in Canada.

Healthcare compliance regulations are becoming stricter and covering more organizations than ever before. In the United States, not only are healthcare organizations subject to healthcare compliance regulations and restrictions but also so are their business partners, such as auditing and account firms.

Spambrella’s Outbound Email Data Loss Prevention and Encryption helps Healthcare organizations with compliance requirements by accurately identifying emails containing sensitive information, and blocking or encrypting the messages before they leave the organization.

Spambrella also protects that information from viruses and malware, providing the industry’s best threat protection against modern-day, malicious threats.

Acquire Fully Integrated Email Encryption

Healthcare physicians are extremely busy professionals whose priority is not necessary to determine what constitutes PHI or encrypting specific messages regarding PHI. Instead, physicians would be well served to employ a policy-based encryption solution that accurately identifies the messages that should be encrypted.

This solution ensures your healthcare organization is maintaining compliance with healthcare privacy regulations but does not place the burden on physicians.

Spambrella Encryption is easy-to-use email encryption, backed by a strong policy engine that ensures all sensitive data is protected before it leaves your organization. All encrypted messages are branded to your healthcare organization’s compliance requirements.

External recipients of Spambrella encrypted emails follow extremely simple steps to authenticate and access their messages. No pre-registration or exchange of encryption keys is required to use Spambrella Encryption; ad-hoc email encryption is fully supported.

Experience worry-free sharing of sensitive data

Ensure privacy in order to avoid data loss and remain in compliance.

Spambrella (outbound and in-place Data Loss Prevention and encryption) helps healthcare organizations adhere to healthcare regulatory compliance and privacy regulations by ensuring that email carrying patient healthcare information is always secured—whether that entails blocking the information from leaving a healthcare organization or (in cases where the healthcare information needs to be shared), or encrypting it before it leaves the organization.

Healthcare organizations can maintain their healthcare regulatory compliance to increasingly strict healthcare privacy regulations while reducing costs by moving infrastructure into the cloud.

Spambrella Key Benefits:

  • Simplified Regulatory Compliance: Ensure your outbound messages comply with national and state government regulations, as well as industry-specific privacy regulations.
  • Superior Malicious and Accidental Data Loss Protection: Protect against the loss of sensitive data—whether from a cybercriminal attempting to exfiltrate valuable data from a compromised system or from an employee accidentally distributing a file to the wrong party through email systems.
  • Easy-to-use Secure Communication: Share sensitive data easily without compromising security and privacy, and enable authorized external recipients to decrypt and read the communications from any device.

Adhere to HIPAA / HITECH email compliance and FIPPA Email Compliance

Ensure that your email systems comply with HIPAA and HITECH healthcare regulatory compliance. Comply with FIPPA healthcare privacy regulatory compliance requirements by automatically detecting and protecting personal information within emails.

Secure your email, distributed file, and social media that contain electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI)  automatically with Spambrella.

Access Managed Medical Dictionaries

Spambrella contains several managed medical dictionaries, such as the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Health-Related Problems, 9th Revision (ICD-9), and the updated Revision 10 (ICD-10).  These codes are updated and released by the World Health Organization and subsequently adopted by the US Department of Health and Human Services. As these updates occur, Spambrella provides them directly to our customer systems. Customers may import dictionaries for use as well.

Stop Ransomware

The high value of sensitive medical data is making the healthcare sector a favorite target for ransomware. Spambrella prevents the malicious, spontaneous encryption of data by all forms of ransomware at our perimeter—Spambrella complements your existing security, blocking processes that attempt to make unauthorized modifications to your data. Once ransomware is intercepted, emails are auto quarantined and administrators are notified by email alert. Users will not be able to view or release ransomware examples. The service is great at filtering bad email as well as junk email out while allowing clean email though. I have used a few other options over the years and this is the best I have found. Clients sometimes have trouble configuring their settings to how they want it to be. Or tag emails as approved when they shouldn't and need IT interaction to resolve. Maybe just ease of use or having a more clear way for clients to resolve basics on their own.

Used the software for: 2+ years - 5/5 Overall
With an ever overloaded department, and with cybersecurity skills shortage getting worse securing the I.T infrastructure.

Offloading the task of e-mail filtering to Spambrella has dramatically helped in the department's performance. The only drawback in our case is that the service is hosted outside of our territory and thus out of the legal jurisdiction.

Robust, versatile, and reliable...
The reliability of the service and the level of protection that it provides. My spam levels immediately dropped to near zero.

There are almost no false positives. And I'm easily able to customize the level of protection with whitelists, blacklists, and sensitivity settings. I'm also a big fan of the antivirus and URL scanning features.

Easy to onboard my customers from another spam filtering system. Very fast and haven't had any downtime in the 9 months since I have moved to Spambrella. When I have had to use support, responses where quick. I had to move all my customers from another filtering system with little notice. After I moved my customers I realised how bad the old solution I used was. Contact with Sales and Support always been professional

I found spambrella to be easy to set up and has dramatically reduced the number of spam emails hitting our inboxes. It was easy to 'train' the software to release any genuine emails that were caught or add any spam that was not picked up.

Within a couple of weeks of use virtually no spam arrived to our mailboxes. Spam and phishing emails are a growing problem for everyone I'm sure. I now get a very low incidence of spam.

It doesn't require an arcane knowledge to set the Spam filtering up, the guides are straight to the point and support staff are very helpful. Functionality wise, in short: we do not get spammed. Thanks to Spambrella.

Archiving wise, the new solution is easy to use, searches well and fast and is by far the cheapest we could find at the time. Ten year retention rocks!
