Determining User Location – PSAT (Educate)

QuestionHow does Security Awareness Training determine where my user is located?

AnswerOur Phishing product utilizes publicly available Geo-ip data to determine the location of the user. You can look up your own IP address at The data is fairly accurate and based on the user’s publicly available IP address. The location displayed depends on how the customer’s WAN network is configured. For example, if a large, nationwide enterprise has a single public NAT IP address that all users access the Internet from located in Ashburn, VA, all clicks will appear to be in Ashburn, VA. This data is not intended to provide GPS-like accuracy. Rather, it is provided so that customers can assess (at a high level) where the clicks originated from. This is particularly helpful for multi-national organizations with a presence (and Internet presence) in multiple locations.
