Proofpoint Essentials for Microsoft 365

Spambrella offers Proofpoint Essentials for Microsoft 365 to any sized business as an additional layer of perimeter security that protects your workers while they fully leverage Office 365 business applications.

Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based email and collaboration platform. Many require advanced security capabilities beyond what’s available with M365.

Multi-Layered Protection: Proofpoint Essentials provides the same enterprise-class security and visibility used by some of the world’s largest security-minded organizations. Now you can get the same protection for your biggest security risk—your workforce.

Advanced Threat Protection: Most attacks target people. They entice them to click on a link in an email or open an attachment. We leverage the advanced power of Targeted Attack Protection, our industry-leading email analysis solution, to protect your people. This unique technology provides you with advanced URL and attachment sandboxing analysis.

Email Continuity: The Proofpoint Essentials emergency inbox gives Microsoft Microsoft 365 users automatic access to email when Microsoft 365 is down. It keeps business email up and running at all times.

Secure Email Communications: Securing emails that contain sensitive data is one of your top priorities. No one wants to face fines, bad press, and loss of customer trust for losing confidential data or customer information. Proofpoint Essentials email encryption helps you reduce the potential negative impacts of data loss by automatically encrypting email.

Social Media Account Protection: We can help you with protection and compliance for up to three branded social media accounts. You can choose from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+. We help you monitor each account to prevent account hacking and protect you from spam and malware being posted on your channels.

Email Archiving: Proofpoint Essentials makes use of the Microsoft Exchange journaling function, enabling you to securely store all internal and external email for up to 10 years. You can easily perform quick and extensive searches, save searches, perform legal holds, and meet legal and regulatory requirements. More on archiving here.

Defending Against Targeted Attacks

Microsoft provides basic email security features with Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP). It relies on traditional filtering techniques like IP reputation, volume, and signature-based antivirus scans for its email hygiene services. But it would help if you had more to protect your people against today’s targeted threats, especially since email is the most reliable way for threats to reach your users. More than 90 percent of targeted attacks start with email. And 99 percent of threats rely on users to run malicious code.

Proofpoint Essentials for Microsoft 365 takes a people-centric approach. It delivers industry-leading email security for SMBs for malware-based threats like malicious attachments or links and malware-free threats like email fraud or credential phishing emails.

With our enterprise-class solution, you can protect your users by adding security scrutiny that cannot be matched by traditional approaches.

How Does Proofpoint Essentials Work with Microsoft 365?

Getting set up on Proofpoint Essentials for Microsoft 365 is simple and intuitive. You deploy Essentials between the Microsoft 365 environment and the Internet. To route inbound mail to Proofpoint Essentials, you start by changing your MX records. After Proofpoint Essentials processes the email, it is routed to Microsoft 365. Since Proofpoint sits in front of Microsoft, the Proofpoint Essentials emergency inbox is activated instantly and automatically when it detects an M365 email service outage. Your users can continue to access email—open, reply, and compose. It’s business as usual. Outbound email is routed to Proofpoint Essentials before it goes to the Internet.

What’s more, Spambrella has a dedicated Proofpoint Essentials support team to help you strengthen security for your Microsoft 365 users. We make it easy and hassle-free and even include a full white-label service to brand the user interface, email notifications, and login screen with your organization’s branding.

For more details on our white-label options, please see here. Let Spambrella support your journey with Proofpoint Essentials with M365!

It doesn't require an arcane knowledge to set the Spam filtering up, the guides are straight to the point and support staff are very helpful. Functionality wise, in short: we do not get spammed. Thanks to Spambrella.

Archiving wise, the new solution is easy to use, searches well and fast and is by far the cheapest we could find at the time. Ten year retention rocks!

Used the software for: 2+ years - 5/5 Overall
With an ever overloaded department, and with cybersecurity skills shortage getting worse securing the I.T infrastructure.

Offloading the task of e-mail filtering to Spambrella has dramatically helped in the department's performance. The only drawback in our case is that the service is hosted outside of our territory and thus out of the legal jurisdiction.

Robust, versatile, and reliable...
The reliability of the service and the level of protection that it provides. My spam levels immediately dropped to near zero.

There are almost no false positives. And I'm easily able to customize the level of protection with whitelists, blacklists, and sensitivity settings. I'm also a big fan of the antivirus and URL scanning features.

Easy to onboard my customers from another spam filtering system. Very fast and haven't had any downtime in the 9 months since I have moved to Spambrella. When I have had to use support, responses where quick. I had to move all my customers from another filtering system with little notice. After I moved my customers I realised how bad the old solution I used was. Contact with Sales and Support always been professional

I found spambrella to be easy to set up and has dramatically reduced the number of spam emails hitting our inboxes. It was easy to 'train' the software to release any genuine emails that were caught or add any spam that was not picked up.

Within a couple of weeks of use virtually no spam arrived to our mailboxes. Spam and phishing emails are a growing problem for everyone I'm sure. I now get a very low incidence of spam.

The service is great at filtering bad email as well as junk email out while allowing clean email though. I have used a few other options over the years and this is the best I have found. Clients sometimes have trouble configuring their settings to how they want it to be. Or tag emails as approved when they shouldn't and need IT interaction to resolve. Maybe just ease of use or having a more clear way for clients to resolve basics on their own.
